Post 6: The Dark God

Chernobog

Chernobog is the evil god against which the ancient Slavs feared and prayed. He is known to cause horrifying events or disasters wherever he is. He is a truly malevolent being and looks to only bring sorrow and pain among the people. He is often compared to the Christian devil; this depiction is far wrong as the devil may have other goals, but not Chernobog, he only commits these atrocities because he wants to. He is said to come only at night fully clothed in black with long, white hair.
Chernobog as depicted
Chernobog is obviously horrendous as he is said to be the incarnation of evil and used to scare Slavic peasants into attending prayers. He only cares for his own happiness which comes from the despair of others.

Post 12: Goddess of Volcanoes

PELE Pele is the Hawaiian goddess of Volcanoes and Flame. She controls the volcanoes of Hawaii and the fires they produce.  Pele is also known as the spirit that shapes the sacred land.  Since she controls the volcanoes she is considered one of the most vital deities in Polynesia. If Pele never existed then the volcanoes would never have existed nor, in turn, would the islands of Hawaii of formed.  She is not a purely benevolent goddess. She seeks to protect those who inhabit her land and protects them from all foreign forces that endanger them. To Hawaiians she is the reason why they have land to live on, beautiful nature, and safety from the volcanoes. Pele in control of volcano
